Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn recently welcomed their first child together. Their baby girl, Kingsley Rose, was born on October 29 in Nashville.
Just about a month later and Brown is already thinking about baby number two. "We thought we were having a boy originally, so now I feel like we're going to have to have a boy so he can protect her," Brown told Us Weekly at the 2019 American Music Awards. "I'm a very protective dad."
The "Good As You" singer went on to explain how much closer he and his wife are now that they have Kingsley in their life. "I didn't think we could be... but we're just a family now," he says. "Both of our families are in different states, so having [our daughter] is kind of like having everybody with us in a weird way."
The country star first publicly announced the arrival of his daughter last month with a post to social media. "KB3 ❤️ welcome to the family Kingsley Rose Brown!!!!," he wrote alongside a photo shared to Instagram. "Obsessed with my little family 😍 Kingsley Rose we are absolutely in love with you❤️ 10.29.19,” Katelyn added in a post on her own page.
Baby Kingsley is apparently already starting to take after her dad as far as looks go. "She's starting to look more like me," Brown told People. "I feel bad for my wife. But she has her nose," he jokes. A recent post shared by Brown to Instagram really shows the resemblance. "My little twin 😎😂," he writes alongside a photo of him mimicking Kingsley's face while holding her.
The Brown family is excited for the holidays this year with their new addition to the family. Kingsley will meet her grandfather and uncles for the first time this Thanksgiving. "We have [Katelyn’s] family coming and her dad hasn’t seen [Kingsley] yet or her other brothers,” Brown says. “So they get to fly in and hang out with the baby for the first time."
He adds, "I’m just excited to give her presents at Christmas, on birthdays…just giving her the best life."
