Dolly Parton, For King & Country & Zach Williams Bring 2019 CMAs To Church

Dolly Parton did more than just co-host the 2019 CMA Awards on Wednesday night (November 13). Throughout the night, the living legend hit the stage to celebrate women of the genre and even transformed the Bridgestone Arena into a church with a three-song medley alongside for KING & COUNTRY and Zach Williams.

During the ceremony, Parton, 73, took to the stage in a sparkling white dress for a first-time performance of "God Only Know" with the Christian pop duo. Next up for the medley was Parton's collab with Williams, "There Was Jesus," but the number wrapped on a fitting note with "Faith," her collaboration with Galantis and Mr. Probz. To push the theme, a choir appeared at the end of the performance, which prompted the crowd to clap hands and share smiles. "Everybody at CMAs, keep the faith," she told the audience.

Prior to the performance, for KING & COUNTRY opened up about their collaboration, admitting that the team-up became a goal for them after they saw her work in the film, Dumplin'. "The song was meant for her it feels like and it’s taken this song to places that we never could have dreamed really," Joel Smallbone told Nashville local news WKRN. The track is the second single off their 2018 LP, Burn the Ships.
