Morning Update 2-6-17:
Briddell Barber, the man police have been looking for in the murders of four people outside a Yazoo City nightclub early today is in custody. JPD says federal marshals arrested Barber at an undisclosed location. A Jackson neighborhood near a school had been searched.
NWS keeps changing its area of concern for tomorrow's severe storms. Originally, the limited risk area ran as far south as I-20 then Sunday it was pushed farther north. This morning, it includes areas along a line from the Delta to south of Meridian. Damaging winds, large hail and a couple of tornadoes will be possible in those areas tomorrow.
MEMA says it's been using more than 100 disaster reservists in the tornado recovery in the Hattiesburg area. Those are part-timers who are paid only when they're needed in a disaster. Georgia, hit by the same storm system last month, had to call in emergency management personnel from other states to help out. MEMA says it costs three times as much to do that as to rely on reservists as we're doing.
